Purpose of the Role

The Head of Logistics & Equipment is the strategic lead for the company’s physical throughput and the reliability of technical assets. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role is responsible for orchestrating a world-class agrologistics network and ensuring that all heavy equipment, specialized food-handling machinery, and cold-chain assets are maintained at peak operational capacity.

This is a high-impact leadership role requiring a professional who can perform effectively under sustained pressure in an environment where structures are evolving and execution speed is critical. The Head of Logistics & Equipment must bridge the gap between large-scale fleet management and sophisticated industrial machinery maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Orchestration & Multi-Modal Transport

· Design and execute a seamless logistics strategy for the movement of bulk food commodities from production clusters to the Epe Logistics Hub.

· Oversee the management of the Hub’s Marshalling Yard, ensuring optimized truck turnaround times and zero congestion.

· Direct the operations of the LAFSINCO fleet and manage Third-Party Logistics (3PL) providers to ensure 99% on-time delivery across the "Produce for Lagos" corridors.

Equipment Life-Cycle & Technical Asset Management

· Custodian of all Hub equipment, including sorting lines, packaging machinery, cold-storage compressors, and heavy material-handling equipment (MHE).

· Develop and enforce a Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) framework to ensure 99.9% uptime for all critical food-processing and storage assets.

· Lead the procurement and technical commissioning of new equipment, ensuring alignment with international food safety and engineering standards.

Digital Logistics & IoT Integration

· Leverage the company’s digital platform and IoT sensors to track fleet movement, fuel consumption, and real-time equipment performance.

· Utilize predictive analytics to identify potential equipment failures before they occur, minimizing downtime and protecting perishable inventory.

Operational Governance & HSE

· Establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all logistics and technical maintenance teams to ensure "Institutional Depth."

· Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, ensuring all operators are certified and all equipment meets safety regulations.

Qualifications & Certificates

Advanced degree MBA or Master’s in Engineering Management or Logistics — mandatory

First degree Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./HND) in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.

Chartered Member — Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) — strong advantage

Registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory

Experience Required

· Minimum of 15–20 years of professional experience in managing large-scale industrial fleets and complex machinery (preferably in the FMCG, Agribusiness, or Port/Aviation sectors).

· Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, or M.Eng) in MBA or Master’s in Engineering Management or Logistics

· Demonstrable experience in FMCG, Agribusiness, Cold-Chain Logistics, or Port/Industrial Park Operations. Experience managing high-volume commodity flows is a distinct advantage.

· Proven track record of managing a diverse fleet (at least 100+ units) and complex industrial machinery (conveyors, industrial refrigeration, packaging lines).

· Experience working within Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) or Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) where there is a high level of accountability to both government and private investors.

· Expertise in negotiating and enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with third-party logistics and maintenance contractors
