Purpose of the Role

The Commercial Manager – Retail Subsidiary is the strategic lead for the company’s B2C (Business-to-Consumer) arm. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role oversees the three critical pillars of our retail presence: Franchise Management, Last-Mile Logistics, and Retail Financial Accountability.

The successful candidate must be a builder who can establish a franchise model from the ground up, ensuring that every retail outlet—whether owned or franchised—meets the company’s standard of quality, pricing, and service.

Key Responsibilities

Retail Franchise Development & Management

Design and implement the "Bulk Food Retail Franchise" model, including legal frameworks, branding guidelines, and operational manuals.
Identify, vet, and onboard strategic franchise partners to scale the retail footprint across Lagos and other key hubs.
Conduct regular audits of retail outlets to ensure 100% compliance with quality standards, pricing policies, and brand representation.

Last-Mile Retail Logistics

Architect an agile retail distribution network that ensures 99% on-time delivery from the Central Hubs to retail outlets.
Oversee a fleet of "last-mile" delivery vehicles (cold-chain and dry) and manage 3PL providers specializing in urban distribution.
Implement real-time routing and tracking technology to minimize transit costs and maximize delivery windows.

Retail Accounts & Financial Governance

Ownership of the Retail Subsidiary’s P&L, ensuring commercial viability and sustainable margins across all outlets.
Oversee "Retail Accounts"—ensuring 100% daily reconciliation of sales, digital payments, and stock movements across the franchise network.
Manage credit limits and payment collections for franchise partners to ensure zero bad debt.

Digital Retail Integration

Leverage the proprietary digital platform to manage retail inventory levels, predict consumer demand, and automate replenishment orders.
Integrate Point-of-Sale (POS) data with the central trade orchestration system to ensure full "Farm-to-Retail" traceability.

Qualifications & Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

An MBA is highly preferred, particularly with a focus on Retail Management or Supply Chain.

Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), or equivalent international certification is mandatory

Experience Required

· Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, agribusiness, or logistics.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field..

· An MBA is highly preferred, particularly with a focus on Retail Management or Supply Chain. (preferred).

· Professional certifications (valuable):

o Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

o Food Safety & Quality Standards (HACCP, ISO 22000)

· Experience in top-tier retail chains (e.g., Shoprite, Spar, Jumia Food) or high-volume FMCG retail wings (e.g., Nestlé, UAC).Strong team management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

· Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities
